A New Start

For this new chapter, I will be talking about my journey with Mimic Social. This was something I was waiting to try solely because I'm on social media everyday, I wanted to try and post to promote a "real" company and earn some big bucks.

The objectives are simple, try and promote the company, BUHI Supply Co.'s products using various social media platforms while given a $5000 budget. Information such as Market, Analytics, Budgets and Goals were given to help in the process.

Round 1

As seen in my profile page above, these are the results for my first 2 rounds which I had done for my first week! So in my first week of trying out and getting the hang of it, I tried to promote my posts on all the platforms and spend about $20-$50 on posts on each platform. I tried different forms of ads, like articles, memes, images, etc. What I've realised is that Instagram and Facebook does really well, while LinkedIn and Youtube do not.

Target Audience

This could be due to the way I promoted my ads, I did not follow the correct age group provided in the information given to me. Such as this data, the age group I targetted was between 13 to 70.

Some of the posts which I did not spend any money also did not generate any revenue even on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube which was interesting as well. It could be due to the post not being attractive to the customer.

Content

Regarding content, I tried to use memes and use funny captions, especially when posting on Facebook and Instagram in order to get more engagements and shares since nowadays. This is because most young people like memes/funny stuff, hence it was an area which I explored in this round.

Overall, my first round was pretty decent as I made about $15,344 while only spending around $2000 on my budget. The reason for spending that much is because I just wanted to try out what works and what does not and take my first 2 rounds a practice and a stepping stone. While in Round 2 I had to answer the questions which made me referenced and analyse my results to answer.
