Hello human, you have made it to the last 2 rounds of my Mimic Pro journey. Don't worry it's about to end after I share and reflect on these final 2 rounds.

ROUND 9, FIGHT

In this round, I made the most significant jump in profits in this whole simulation.

A whopping $30 000.

However, I made more discoveries in this round as well.

/Brands/Canon

We start once again where I follow the instructions of the round and adjust the budget and ad campaigns. This time I edited one of my ad campaigns for the brand, Canon. I added the different product models like the ("EOS", "IXUS"), lenses type, types of cameras ("mirrorless", "DSLR", "compact") that Canon sold as the keywords for this landing page. I placed bids for these keywords under my ad campaign as well.

The Best Mistake

I made another mistake in this round. But, it turns out helped me in my favour. I used the same landing page for 2 different ad campaigns, but both ad campaigns had a different number and types keywords which I had placed and bid for. These 2 ad campaigns were my top 2 ad campaigns for this round.

My Thoughts

It got me to think, "Could it be due to the addition of different product types for keywords on a general page of a brand which brought this success?" I then began to think on the AIDA model which I learnt from my studies in Integrated Marketing Communications(IMC). This landing page was probably the A in the model which stand for awareness.

AIDA

The landing page was used as awareness for the general consumers who did not know what they want and was researching on cameras. Thus, when they searched for camera types like "DSLR cameras" the ad came up or if they searched for a specific product like the "Canon EOS" the ad also came up.

So through this, the landing page for my ad campaigns brings awareness to the consumers and builds the desire to know more about the different products offered by Canon and once they have a product which interests them, the consumers next action are to purchase the product.

YOU ARE READING THIS FOR THE FINAL TIME,

ROUND 10, FIGHT

We've made it to the last round! A final update on my profits for this round was an increase(thankfully) to $31 000.

New Product

In this round, along with adjusting the ad campaigns, I made a new ad campaign for one of the products, the Sony A99. The reason for doing this product was because my friends had been telling me it sells well in their simulations. So since it was the last round, I wanted to earn as much as possible. Hence I did the landing page, followed by adding the necessary information for the ad campaign as well. This ad campaign did well as it was number 1 for this round and brought in $7000 in profits.

New Email Campaign

I was also tasked to do a new email campaign for this round as well, so I made one on the Sony A99 too.

Since most consumers see the headers before opening an email, it has to attract them. Therefore I had to use the word "sale" which would attract the consumers. Following up to this, I named it "Sony's flagship DSLR" because the Sony A99 was the flagship camera which meant that it was their best camera and for consumers to know that there was a sale on such a product would attract them. Lastly, I had this email campaign sent out to 11 000 consumers as there would be a higher reach. Hence, higher chances of these 11 000 consumers of opening it.

It was also another campaign that did well, seeing how there were 1380 opens and 125 clicks, there was a total of 6 conversions which was still ok but not the best.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was rather underwhelmed over the results of my last round, I thought by adding a new ad campaign, it would generate more sales and brought in more profits but my revenue was lesser than Round 9. However, I believe it could be due to the final change in my spending budget.

In, Round 9, my budget was $4500 while in Round 10 I increased it to the maximum amount of $5000 so that I could spend the remaining since it was the last round. It turns out that it made a difference in the numbers.
