A 6 part series on my journey with the Internet Marketing Simulator called Mimic Pro

At the start of this simulator, I truly had no idea what to expect or what I would be doing and why was I even playing a game. After the 10 rounds, I tip my hats off as this simulator was so much fun and competitive.

ROUND 1, FIGHT

What I've Done

In the first round, I did what I was told, followed the instructions and did the landing pages.

I chose 2 products, add around 5 keywords that said "Camera" or "Canon" since I was doing a Canon product and there we had it, a profit of $240 with only $51 spent.

There was also an email campaign which I also followed the instructions and to be honest, I just wrote it the way I wanted it and ended up with a profit of $320 after spending $129. I thought it was all good, felt like a real digital marketer. Till I compared with friends who earned a $1000.

What was I missing?

ROUND 2, FIGHT

What I've Done

We move on to Round 2 where I made more landing pages and ad campaigns.

I started adding more attractive words like "sale", "discount" on the product landing pages as well as adding as many keywords I could think of that had relevance to each ad campaign.

By the end of the round, I managed to hit above $5000 which made me felt even better and made me understand the importance of using appropriate keywords. I also realised that things were getting somewhat repetitive.
